one little pen.

"disposable plastic pens aren't recyclable, nor are they biodegradable. throw one away, and it will still be in a landfill fifty thousand years from now."
-- the green book.

oh my god.
50,000 years! 50,000+ years all of our crappy worn out pens will be in dumps on earth. that is mind-boggling. how can we live with ourselves?

i commit plenty of eco-sins -- i'd be lying if i said otherwise. but doesn't that just make you stop and think? what kind of footprint am i going to leave on earth? how will nature be impacted by my selfish human ways?

think about it.

with love,
rachel. <3

(p.s. i'll probably be doing more eco-conscious posts. this book -- the green book -- is speaking volumes to me now.)

  3. You should move to Grape Creek. :) I'm tired of being the only person who thinks like that. Besides, I could steal your books. Lol.

  4. tabitha: it really is. i don't think i'll be buying/using plastic pens any longer. and yes, you're more than welcome to it.

jonas: it's a SUPER long time! ah, that's a good point... i use mechanical pencils as well. perhaps we should submit to wooden?
