liberty of london.

hello there!

it's SUMMERTIME, dears! school is out, & i couldn't be more happy. lately i've just been relaxing & getting used to summer-life. :) however, i noticed i haven't written a post about the liberty of london craze that swept though america this spring! i couldn't let this happen, saying as i LOVE the liberty of london collections from target & MAC.

so, without further ado~


this is alan, my piggy bank from the liberty of london for target. isn't he the cutest? (also, excuse the picture quality; i took this with my phone. ^^")



my MAC lip gloss. i adore this packaging! i even saved the box. xD this color is "frankly fresh", and it's frankly the best nude lipgloss i've ever had.


never had i wanted to put on blush in public until i bought this. i LOVE the little bird. does he have a name? i think i should name him... but what? ideas? ;D



& my liberty for london by target dress! i love this dress; it's simply amazing. i wish i had a picture that showed how lovely the silhouette is when worn, but alas. it is somewhat loose at the top, cinches in at the waist, and floats to just below the knees. a masterpiece, and so comfortable! the only downside is that i prefer my skirts/dresses to skim my knees at the lowest when at this length. however, the other attributes more than make up for it.

in other news, chic frills (the consignment shop i inhabit all the time) is having a 50% off sale tomorrow, so hopefully i'll have a post up tomorrow showing off my goods! :) i'll also be going to tuscaloosa wednesday with my mom, so who knows what i'll have by the end of the week? xD

plaid sporty dress + college woes.

hi there lovelies!

the picture above describes the way i feel about applying to college perfectly. i haven't decided what i want to do, or where i want to go, but i have a range of choices for each. i'm looking at yale at the moment for pharmacology or neurology, but i don't know how to get to graduate school in terms of courses and undergrad degrees and OMFG I'M SO OVERWHELMED. i think i might just throw out the idea of ivy league all together because i just feel so frusterated and overwhelmed and alone. i don't know of anyone from my high school going to an ivy league school, so i really don't know if my guidance counselor can help me or if i'd be doing the application process on my own. but anyway.

SUMMER IS HERE! i exempt all of my exams & i'm so happy i have two sweet months of relaxing! ...except for the whole attempting to apply to colleges deal. maybe this means i can blog more -- i hope so! :)

i have an outfit for you today; it's a few months old, back from when it was cold & dreary. but i happen to really love this outfit, so... xD



plaid dress is from charlotte russe -- it's the first thing i bought from the chain, i believe, & it's INCREDIBLY comfy & it has a rather sporty hoodie-deal. white shirt is random brand. grey tights are OLD, from delia's. brown boots are bare traps.

i love these things... ridiculously comfy. they zip up as well, which is great because i have pretty muscular calves. i bought them last black friday for $35!


gold bracelet was a gift from greece, bangles are a mix of lucky brand & mudd from kohls. rose buckled belt is from american eagle.


i was feeling extremely silly when i took these pictures, in case you couldn't tell. xD
pearl & chain necklace is vintage, from my grandmother, & the just-pearl necklace was a gift from her.

today seems like a good day to post some random inspirations. hopefully after this next week i'll be able to post some decent posts -- this is (hopefully) my last week of school until SENIOR YEAR! (unless i have exams. then phooey.) but anyway~

i love this one! i'm just a vegetarian, not a vegan -- though i greatly admire them. once i move to a more vegetarian-friendly area, i hope to at least halfway convert.

guess what day it is. dave gahan's birthday! is it bad i kind of celebrate this like a holiday? i ate cake & everything. xD

but yes, today my blog is going to get dave gahan picture happy, & i'll go ahead & do my music!monday today as well. you'll never guess who this week's will be devoted to. xD

rachel loves army jackets!

hey loves!

GOOD LORD, it's been a long time since my last [real] blog post! i am so sorry! life has just been such a whirlwind. schoolwork has been kicking my ass; my algebra 2 with trig grade is looking dismal (for me, anyway), spanish 2 is driving me insane, & for the past two weeks in english we've been working on the grade's first research paper. i've never written a research paper before -- i've written a research speech, but still -- and it seems that everyone expects me to know this stuff. thesis statement? source cards? uhm, i'm sorry: i'm not your teacher. but anyways, i didn't mean to get off on that rant...

the school's band & choir spring concerts are over, thank goodness; now i have two free periods! the choir concert went quite well; my voice kind of died afterwards, but it's all good. i had this sweet old lady walk up to me after the concert & say, "you just have the prettiest voice! you sound like a songbird." it made me glow. :) band concert... could have been better, but alas, it was still okay.

BUT ENOUGH OF LIFE. its terribly mundane. i don't have any outfits of my own to show, but i have a special obsession of mine...

army jackets are amazing. rough & tough & destroyed & everything i dream grunge. i love olivia palermo's take; i love belted things, and belted army jackets? yes please!

i've yet to own one of these, however. i found one in a local consignment shop; however it was a men's large, which reached my knees. still on the look-out!

(i also love army jackets for guys. just saying.)
