i love you more than french fries!

hey loves!

the above is my playing-around on picnik; i think it looks kind of neat. mom & i are in birmingham for this technology conference; it's more of her thing. i've been hanging out in the hotel room & walking around most of the time. we've had a blast, though! eaten lots of amazing food, done some shopping, & simply had wonderful mother-daughter time.

tank is from belk, jeans are levis, wedges are from target, belt is american eagle, purse is charlotte russe. peace sign earrings (you can't see, i know) & wooden bracelet are gifts, pearl&chain necklace is vintage (my grandmother's), ring is mark.

mom & i were outside in downtown birmingham & we decided outside pics would be a welcome change. i enjoyed having a photographer, too. thanks mom! :)

i also went to urban outfitters for the first time yesterday, which was awesome! all the clothes were so cute, and the apartment stuff was wonderful! next year i'll be buying some of their stuff to decorate my dorm/apartment. :D my only complaint were the many aloof hipsters. i don't enjoy people in retail who don't look happy to have a job, you know? but onto the goods:

the dress was on sale & it fits wonderfully! the bottom hem is scalloped. also, if you know me in real life you should know how relevant the notebook is. for those of you who don't: i love french fries. on trips where there isn't much vegetarian-friendly fare, i will gladly scarf down some deep fried potatoes with ketchup. :D

this is my first non-knit hat ever. i'm pleased to have it, & on sale for $10? what a steal! :D but i feel very silly wearing this hat-shape with my hair loose, hence the hair-pulled-back.

we also went to whole foods for the first time. oh my goodness, i know it's kind of ridiculous to be so excited about a grocery store, but that place is AMAZING! i bought this reusable tote; isn't it cute? we also bought some vegan cookies, which are delicious! we're going to go back friday when we leave for home & stock up on some food we can't get in rural alabama, & perhaps eat at the deli. any suggestions?

also, i'd like to talk FOOD. :D yesterday we went to flip burger, which is this swanky (i love that word) burger joint in the summit. there's also one in atlanta. i got a nutella & burnt marshmallow milkshake -- made with liquid nitrogen! -- a faux-falel buger, & fried pickles. it was amazing! the burger was a falafel mixture deep-fried, topped with a small salad, with a feta-mixture spread on the bun. i had to eat it with a fork, mostly. it was SO GOOD. then tonight we went to california pizza kitchen, which was all kinds of good. we got the mediterranean plate -- a small amount of feta cheese, small greek salad, & their amazing tuscan white bean hummus, along with pizza-pita bread -- and a 1/2 cheese, 1/2 goat cheese and roasted pepper pizza. it was delicious, & i've got leftovers for breakfast!

well, that's all for tonight! :) comment please!

monochrome.

hello!

another spring outfit for you! (my outfits as of late have been bland. :/)

grey long sleeve is ralph lauren, black cuffed shorts are the limited, oxford-heels (i guess that's what you'd call them?) are rampage. harsh lighting is harsh.

these earrings are from a consignment store, and such a steal: 75 cents!

._. the expression above kind of horrifies me. but anywho! i love this necklace, which is from target. it's so feminine & such a statement piece.

tomorrow my mom & i are heading to a technology conference. woohoo nerds! i'm excited to go, because i'll be getting out of small town, alabama, i'll get some mom-daughter time, & shopping! there are two huge malls in the birmingham-area, & i'm hoping we can scour through both. there's also some cute surrounding suburb-towns whose downtowns are calling my name. i think it will be a fun escapade with my mom. :)

gold cardi + floral tiered skirt.

hey there!

today's post is going to be an old outfit from the early spring. i know, i know, i'm so late! but it's a cute outfit, no matter how belated the posting is~

gold cardi is delia's, black tank is charlotte russe, floral tiered skirt is roxy (i think, but for sure from pac sun), black tights, i can't remember. the shoes are from the same boutique in valdosta (city market) where i bought my yellow leather sandals.

pearl bracelet & wooden bracelet were gifts, colored bangles are lucky brand, bronze/silver/pewter bangles are from kohl's.

pearl & chain necklace is vintage (my grandmother's orginially); pearl cluster earrings were a gift.

i'm feeling kind of lazy, so i think i'm just going to end here. time to watch more star trek: the next generation! :D

i love consignment sales! (& target.)

hey loves!

so, here's what i promised: the consignment sale goods! i also bought a few things with my mom in tuscaloosa, so i'll show you those as well.

most of the things were beauty products, though, so i think i'll list those off for you: a bath&body works back scrubber (in light blue & neon green! it's too cute) and bigelow lemon&pomegranate body scrub -- which smells AMAZING. i haven't tried it yet, so if you've ever used it, give me a review! :) i also got a free gift at b&bw, which was a full size lotion! they have a sale going on; if you spend $10, you get a signature scent product worth up to $12 -- for free! :D but i chose the orange sapphire scent, which is such a great summer scent. it goes quite well with clinique.happy.

then we went to ulta, which is one of my favorite stores. <3 bought the green smashbox primer for eliminating redness (this stuff is AMAZING) & yes to carrots gentle exfoliating cleanser. i've only used the yes to carrots twice, and so far it's incredible. it smells great & my skin is so very soft, not to mention the ingredients are natural. gotta love that.

but anyway, what are you here for? clothes! let's go~

from target: black lace tank & grey t-shirt with studded shoulders.

from target: these AMAZING shoes! they're HUGE! i feel so powerful wearing these. & they aren't heavy like they look. they're a beautiful color, and the flower accents make them great for spring&summer. and for $20? yes please. :)

on to CONSIGNMENT SALE!

i love knick-knacks. my grandmother does, too, so i must have picked this trait from her! this is just a little porcelain flower bouquet; it brings cheer to my writing desk.

these are actually boy's shorts -- they fit at my waist and they're wonderful! i can't wait to wear them. $1.50, too!

simple things: grey&white striped sweater & a grey henley. i know, i know, a sweater in june? are you mad? when things cost $1, season does not matter. xD

first dress: it's very simple, but i'm going to chop it off to mid-thigh (it hits my knees). it gives off a very 'shirley manson from 1995' vibe. second dress: this dress looks SO much better on a body than on a hanger! it's fitted throughout the torso, but in a corset way. chic frills (the consignment shop) has dollar racks some days, & i found this on a dollar rack!

how darling is this owl pendant? i actually got this from my grandma; she has the best jewelry! i've been looking for a bird necklace, so this just delighted me!

and... SHOPPING OUTFIT.

grey v-neck from old navy, army green shorts & tribal print purse from charlotte russe. the yellow sandals are from a cute boutique called city market in valdosta, georgia. i've had these for a year and a half; they are so worn out, but i can't stop wearing them!

wooden bangle from consignment shop, pearl bracelet was a gift, gold bracelet was a gift from my dad from greece.

i bought those black floral dangling earrings from chic frills tuesday as well. they could possibly become my new favorite earrings.

happy birthday alan wilder!

good day!

so, i lied about the consignment shop haul post today -- however, i did get a good bit & i'm hoping i can post pictures tomorrow or the day after. but more importantly, it's alan wilder's birthday! he's age 51 today, and i assure you he's still amazing. :)

he is so gorgeous! especially during the 80's... le sigh.

master & servant screenshot. come onnnn! ;D

alan wilder is a musical genius. while i still LOVE depeche mode without him, his influence on the albums previous to ultra (besides speak & spell) is obvious. but recoil is his absolutely amazing solo project, which uses many contributors. i admire him greatly.

and the more current pictures. still gorgeous.

today will also be the belated music!monday. enjoy~

jezebel music video.
i HIGHLY recommend this music video. it's very artistic.

well, uh, guess that's it. ^^" my conclusion-writing kind of sucks, even moreso today! haha. xD
